James O’Connell is a dynamic and accomplished fintech professional, diversity consultant and LGBT+ advocate. With extensive experience in the financial sector and banking, James is passionate about innovation and diversity, equity & inclusion. He helps organisations to achieve their diversity and inclusion goals by working closely with them to design and deliver high-impact diversity courses and initiatives.
James has lived and worked in the metro-New York area for over 30 years, pursuing his professional passion for advocacy and innovation in both consumer payments and banking working for Mastercard and JP Morgan Chase (through multiple mergers and acquisitions).
James is also a life coach to LGBT+ homeless youths at the Ali Forney Center in NYC, acting as a role model and mentor providing both personal and professional guidance.
