Diversity and Employment Law Specialist
Linda Stewart is a highly accomplished employment lawyer, workplace mediator and trainer, with extensive experience of supporting businesses, unions and public sector organisations to improve employee engagement. Linda worked in the legal profession for 20 years, where she represented individuals, trades unions and businesses in the Courts and Tribunals. Before joining EW Group, Linda was a Partner and Head of Employment at a national solicitors’ firm, where she championed equality and diversity; assisting clients to deliver on gender pay reporting, equal pay, and family-friendly policies that worked towards a more inclusive culture. She also advised the legal services function within the UK’s largest trades unions, facilitating and delivering training to officers and members on all aspects of the employment relationship. Linda previously led for the TUC on equality policy during the Equality Bill’s passage through Parliament, and is a contributor to its publications, ‘Your Rights at Work’ and ‘The TUC Guide to Equality Law’. Her work has also been published in The International Journal of Discrimination and the Law, The Times, Pink News, Personnel Today, Midlands in Business, workingmums.com and Managing Partner. Since joining EW Group, Linda’s primary objective has been to assist Managers and HR professionals within SMEs to develop inclusive policies and procedures aimed at getting the best out of their people. Her recent work includes policy-writing on data protection, and facilitation and training on the ILM Level 4 Award in Managing Equality and Diversity in an Organisation.
