Marie has been involved in equality, diversity and inclusion in the public sector for over thirty years. She worked for seven years for the Disability Rights Commission, initially as Head of Policy and then leading all of the work of the organization developing the public sector equality duty.
Since leaving the DRC, Marie has focused on undertaking a range of public appointments, including chairing the Transport for London Independent Disability Advisory Group and advising the Bar Standards Board in relation to equality. She has also concentrated on working with organizations trying to reach specific EDI Standards. This has included working with almost twenty local authorities who were striving to reach the Local Government Equality Framework and assessing the performance of six different Premier League football clubs in relation to the Premier League Equality Standard.
Marie has most recently undertaken a range of consultancy roles particularly looking at organizational structures in relation to EDI, Equality Impact Assessments, and Equality Strategies for national organizations in the culture, finance and transport sectors.
