Building upon the recruitment strategies explored in the first webinar in this series, this session focused on the critical task of retaining women in leadership. We examined the tenure gap between men and women in senior positions and its implications for organizational success.  

Dr Enya Doyle, EW Diversity and Inclusion Consultant, discussed a variety of retention strategies aimed at closing the tenure gap customized for women leaders including:  

  • Pay equity 
  • Inclusive working arrangements (remote, flexible, part-time) 
  • Leadership development programmes 
  • Networks and ERGs 
  • Mentorship and sponsorship programmes 
  • Maintaining an inclusive team around women in leadership 
  • Raising awareness across the company around menstruation, menopause and caring responsibilities  

We also discussed some of the new legislation being implemented throughout 2024 which intersect with your company’s efforts to recruit and retain women in leadership.  

The session concluded with a facilitated Q&A and a call to action for implementing retention strategies to support and empower women leaders within their organizations.
