Chartered Insurance Institute
Enhancing member inclusion and employee perception at the world’s leading professional body for financial services
The Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) first approached us to provide an external assessment of their diversity performance. CII’s aim was to demonstrate its commitment to meeting the individual needs of its employees, and responding to the diversity of its membership.
CII successfully completed our Diversity in Business Accreditation (now known as the Diversity Development Standard), with special mention given to the time and effort invested in awareness-raising around equality, diversity and inclusion over the previous five years.
The Institute demonstrated its commitment by introducing a number of positive initiatives such as a Diversity Action Group, and its production of a selection of good practice guides. Our final DiBA report recognised those areas where diversity had been duly integrated, as well as those where improvements could be made and opportunities seized.
The DiBA diversity accreditation was the first of several projects we’ve delivered at the Chartered Insurance Institute.
Our other projects with the Institute have included:
- Designing a half-day taster event introducing unconscious bias in decision-making
- Advising on CII’s Diversity and Inclusion Strategy
- Consulting on inclusive leadership
- Designing a series of immersive actor-based workshops, featuring scenarios around unconscious bias and the organisational impact it can have on colleagues, service users, etc.
We also have an ongoing partnership with CII, which sees EW experts host master classes, workshops and events at the Institute’s Great Hall in London as part of our ILM Level 7 Certificate in Leadership and Management programme, Appledore.
“The team at EW Group are experts in their field so you know you are in safe hands. The Diversity Development Standard (formally known as DiBA), is a fundamental business tool providing recognition of achievements and recommendations for improvements, while providing a mechanism for employees to have a say in a confidential setting.”
